‘No one’ is the face of the Democrats? New poll should scare the party ahead of next elections
With a Republican in charge at the White House and both houses of Congress, it could be difficult to discern who is the head of the Democratic Party.
But according to a new poll, a plurality of respondents say Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the face of the Democrats — or no one.
That was the finding of a poll that should concern Democrats as the set their sights on the 2026 midterms and the 2028 elections.
The New York congresswoman polled at 26% in the latest Co/efficient survey — the highest among eight Democrats named in the poll.
Ocasio-Cortez was tied with “no one,” which also polled at 26%.
In third was “other” at 22%.
Behind the New York congresswoman was independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders at 12%, followed by Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett at 8%.
In fourth was former Vice President Kamala Harris at 6%.
Four men rounded out the list: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y. and ex-Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg were tied for fifth with 5%, followed by New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker in sixth with 4%.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom was last of the Democrats with 2%.
