No. 4 Alabama beats No. 20 Ole Miss, wins 8th straight

The No. 4 Alabama soccer team won its eighth straight game Thursday as the hot steak continues.

A 5-0 win over No. 20 Ole Miss pushed the Crimson Tide to 5-0 in the SEC and 12-1-1 overall. Alabama hasn’t lost since on August 21 at Miami. The unbeaten streak is up to 12 games for Alabama.

Ole Miss (9-2-2) scored first before Alabama went on a first-half tear.

The hosts scored twice in a minute to tie the game and then take the lead. Felicia Knox tied it at 15:09 before Parker Mattingly made it, 2-1 at 15:44. Macy Clem gave Alabama a two-goal lead nine minutes later as Knox had an assist on the second and third goals.

A second-half insurance goal came from Brooke Steere with Knox again getting the assist along with Reyna Reyes.

Alabama outshot Ole Miss 18-6 while goalkeeper McKinley Crone had one save.

The fourth-ranked Crimson Tide will be home again Sunday for a 1 p.m. CT visit from LSU.
