No. 1 Alabama soccer wins 11th straight game
The top-ranked Alabama women’s soccer team won its 11th straight game Thursday night.
The 4-1 win at Mississippi State clinched the SEC West title for the Crimson Tide.
Alabama improved to 15-1-1 with a perfect 8-0 mark in league play entering the final two games of the regular season.
Gianna Paul opened the scoring 10:51 into Thursday’s game in Starkville. The hosts tied it before halftime before the Crimson Tide added three goals in the second half. Riley Mattingly Parker (64:02), Ashlynn Serepca (75:16) and Riley Tanner (89:41) added the second-half goals.
Alabama goalkeeper McKinley Crone had four saves as Alabama had seven shots on goal compared to Mississippi State’s five.
The Crimson Tide plays host to Florida (2-12-1, 0-7-1) at 6 p.m. CT Sunday before closing the regular season at 7:30 p.m. CT Thursday at Auburn.
