Nicki Minaj will return to Birmingham for the first time in over a decade
Nicki Minaj announced an upcoming stop in Birmingham as part of the second leg of her ”Pink Friday 2 World Tour.“
She will perform at Legacy Arena at the BJCC on Sunday, Sept. 15.
The tour dates will be held throughout the fall in cities all across the country from Los Angeles to San Antonio to Columbia, South Carolina.
Tickets for the concert go on sale Friday, May 31 at 9 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Prices range from $59-$300 before fees. However, Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets for the newly added dates in the U.S. beginning on Wednesday, May 29 at 2 p.m. ET until Thursday, May 30 at 11:59 p.m. through the Citi Entertainment program. The tour will also offer a variety of different VIP packages through Live Nation.
Minaj recently had to reschedule her Manchester show after police in the Netherlands discovered marijuana in her bags as she was preparing to leave the country.
Minaj is known for dominating as the sole female hip-hop emcee from 2010-2018 with top charting hits like “Moment 4 Life”, “Super Bass”, and “Anaconda”. It was her 2009 mixtape “Beam Me Up Scottie“ featuring “Itty Bitty Piggy” that helped propel her to mainstream success along with getting signed to Young Money Entertainment. The rapper/singer also became known for her features where she would out-rap a lot of her male peers, notably on Kanye West’s “Monster” track.
The self-proclaimed Queen of Hip-Hop and 12-time Grammy-winner was last in Birmingham in July 2012 for a performance at Boutwell Auditorium.
