Nick Saban’s A-Day concern was Miss Terry, says Tide in good hands with Kalen DeBoer

Nick Saban encountered a first in his football life Saturday while attending his first Alabama A-Day as the former coach.

During an in-game interview, Saban had one issue that weighed on him more than any other.

“My biggest concern is with my head coach, Miss Terry,” Saban said with a smile. “I’ve never had to watch a game with her. I’m a little concerned.”

Other than that, the 72-year-old former coach was relaxed. A day after he spent time at Augusta for the Masters, Saban said his former team is in good hands with new head coach Kalen DeBoer.

“Kalen’s a great coach,” Saban said. “I know there has been some disruptions as far as me leaving, him coming. He’s going to do a great job. Players are in good hands. I think they’ll do a great job of recruiting. Probably need to get some guys out of the portal like everybody else this time of the year.

“I’m excited about the future.”
