Nick Saban talks Alabama injuries, Chattanooga game and Malachi Moore.
Alabama football is set to take on Chattanooga this week in its final non-conference game of the season. The FCS Mocs represent a break in the SEC scheduled before Alabama closes the regular season with a trip to Auburn and plays in the conference championship game against Georgia.
Before the Crimson Tide’s Saturday matchup, head coach Nick Saban met with local reporters in Tuscaloosa. Here are the highlights from Saban’s press conference.
— Saban says he’s trying to emphasize focus on this game with players. Notes Chattanooga took a lead on Alabama in 2016 and the Mocs have good players. Notes focus needs to be in right place for players. Says players have been good.
— Saban says Jermaine Burton has practiced. Says Jaylen Key and Deontae Lawson are questionable as to whether they’ll play Saturday.
— Saban praises Chattanooga’s quarterback. Notes that he thinks the Mocs wide receivers could play in the SEC. Says the UTC offense is very good overall.
— Says Malachi Moore is an extremely valuable player for the Crimson Tide. Discusses Moore’s expanded role for the Crimson Tide’s defense this year. Says he’s never seen Moore as anything other than a starting-quality player for Alabama.
