Nick Saban shares come-to-Jesus moment in which son gets best of him, leaves Pat McAfee in stitches

Nick Saban, to some degree, is like all parents, right? Do as I say, not as I do.

At least that appears to be the gist of it after the Alabama coach shared a story with Pat McAfee on Friday after the ESPN analyst shared how much he loves watching Saban get after it on the sideline.

“Some things you talk about,” Saban quipped, “some things you do.”

Saban, who will be a guest every Thursday on “The Pat McAfee Show,” shared a hilarious dad moment about attending a junior high basketball game in which his son got a technical.

“I didn’t get to go to a lot of games because of recruiting and what not,” Saban said. “I happened to go to the game. He’s on a breakaway layup and a guy fouls him hard into the wall. He gets up and says something to the guy. He got a technical foul.

“I have this come-to-Jesus moment with him when we get home. I’m gonna teach him how to keep his cool and all that. I give him a 15-minute … best speech ever about keeping your cool, don’t lose your cool, keep your poise. … He sat there, looked at me and listened so intently.

“Then, he said to me, ‘And how many headsets did you bust this year?’

“So, I said, ‘You’ve got me on that one.’”
