The past three seasons, finding a way to beat Georgia has been darn near impossible.

Only one man has done it: Nick Saban.

Alabama defeated Georgia in the 2021 SEC Championship, then the Crimson Tide did it again in 2023. Otherwise, Georgia hasn’t lost any other games over three seasons.

Until someone proves they can beat the Bulldogs, they’re Saban has trouble picking against his former defensive coordinator Kirby Smart. Georgia is Saban’s pick to win the SEC and win the national championship in 2024.

Georgia got Saban’s nod when he and College GameDay analysts each had the opportunity to select their pick to win the national championship in 2024. They locked in their picks before the first game of the college football season between Florida State and Georgia Tech in Ireland.

Here are Saban’s conference champion predictions:

ACC: Florida State

Big Ten: Ohio State

Big 12: Utah

SEC: Georgia

Saban also gave his prediction for the 12-team playoff. He thinks Alabama will be the No. 7 seed, facing No. 10 Notre Dame in the first round of the playoff. The winner of that game would then face No. 2 Ohio State in Saban’s prediction.
