Nick Saban has been a part of many memorable moments during his time as the head coach Alabama over the years.

Games, rants, plays and more will forever be linked to Saban, but the seven-time national championship coach revealed Thursday during his weekly radio show his most “gratifying” experience during his time in Tuscaloosa.

“I’ve never had a more gratifying experience then when I walked in the stadium 17 years ago for the spring game, the A-Day game, and there 95,000 people in the stands,” he explained. “That still gives me cold chills to this day to know that they were that many people who were so committed to wanting to the University of Alabama have a quality program and something that they could be proud of. That’s what we work, to try to please these people and that means a lot as well.”

Saban made his debut in 2007 where Bryan-Denny Stadium was packed to the tune of 92,138 fans for the A-Day game. The largest Alabama spring game crowd before Saban was 51,117 in 1988.

Alabama hosts Tennessee on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The game will be live streamed on Paramount+ (free trial) and fuboTV (free trial).
