Nick Saban enjoys a Little Debbie on ESPN: ‘They never even sent me a free box’
Former Alabama coach Nick Saban made his ESPN debut this weekend, and an old friend was there to greet him.
Saban, the new guy at the network, enjoyed a signature treat with his cohosts on the network’s NFL Draft coverage – a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie.
The sweet treat has become so associated with Saban – it was the subject of an ESPN commercial during his college coaching days – that fans left boxes of them at his statue upon his retirement.
Earlier this month, Saban said in an interview that the sports network, his new employer, has already supplied him with the snack, which he eats “every day.”
Along with Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and Rece Davis, Saban sampled the treat that has long been associated with his daily routine.
Herbstreit asked, “How much revenue have you generated for them over the years, Coach?”
“They never even sent me a free box,” Saban said.
At least one user on X had a theory as to why:
