NFL’s top 100 runs of the 2024 season full of players from Alabama

If the NFL’s 100 best runs of the 2024 season didn’t include those with ball-carriers from Alabama high schools and colleges, it would be the NFL’s 78 best runs of the 2024 season.

Eight players with Alabama football roots appeared on the top 100 list, but not all were running backs. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams show up in the top 10 of the 100 runs that the NFL selected as its best this season.

Hurts made the list at No. 5 with a 44-yard run that opened the scoring in the Eagles’ 28-22 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the NFC playoffs on Jan. 19.

Williams made the list for a run in the second round of the NFC playoffs, too. Williams is at No. 6 with a 61-yard touchdown on an end-around in the Lions’ 45-31 loss to the Washington Commanders on Jan. 18.

Williams also made the top 100 at No. 70 for a 15-yard run during Detroit’s 23-20 victory over the Chicago Bears on Nov. 28.

The top run on the list by a player from an Alabama high school or college belonged to Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry. At No. 4 on the list is Henry’s 87-yard touchdown run that opened the scoring in a 35-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 29.

The run is among Henry’s seven appearances in the top 100. He also appears at Nos. 13, 15, 30, 46, 61 and 96.

Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had the No. 18, 19, 74 and 93 runs.

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs had the No. 27, 42 and 82 runs.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby had the No. 24 and 89 runs.

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford had the No. 34 and 80 runs.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris appears in the top 100 with the No. 33 run.

All the players from Alabama on the list played for the Crimson Tide except Bigsby, who is a former Auburn ball-carrier.
