NFLâs best receive honors for 2023 season
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson won The Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player Award for the second time on Thursday night.
Jackson was a nearly unanimous selection, with only one of the 50 voters on the AP panel of media members failing to cast a first-place vote for the Ravens QB as the 2023 NFL MVP.
Jackson finished with 493 points in the balloting by receiving 49 first-place votes and one third-place vote. (Voters put five players on their ballot with a descending value of 10, five, three, two and one points.)
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen received the other first-place vote, but he finished fifth in the voting.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was the runner-up with 152 points – five more than San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey. San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy came in fourth.
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill finished sixth in the MVP voting. The former West Alabama standout received two second-place votes, six third-place votes, nine fourth-place votes and 14 fifth-place votes for 60 points.
Jackson also won the AP MVP Award in 2019.
The AP NFL Most Valuable Player Award was presented during the NFL Honors ceremony at the Resorts World Theatre on Thursday night in Las Vegas.
