Week 8 NFL player props: Jalen Hurts total yards, Derrick Henry touchdown scorer

Jalen Hurts over 281.5 passing/rushing yards (-115)

After a fast and furious start to the season, Hurts’ statistical totals have tailed off noticeably of late. He averaged 361 passing/rushing yards over his first three games, but that average dropped to 241.3 over his most recent three contests.

Now, though, the competition softens a bit following Philly’s Week 7 bye. Up first is a tasty matchup against a T.J. Watt-less Pittsburgh Steelers defense that has been one of the league’s worst in slowing opposing quarterbacks, surrendering an average of 304.6 passing/rushing yards per contest.

In other words, we’re banking on a refreshed Hurts taking flight again coming out of the bye week.

Derrick Henry over 98.5 rushing yards (-115 or better)

King Henry has been on quite a roll of late with at least 102 rushing yards and three total touchdowns over his last three games.

And Week 8 brings an even tastier matchup in the Houston Texans, who are getting absolutely gashed for a league-most 164.7 rushing yards per game, including a league-high 135.3 by opposing running backs.

Last week, we went with the over on fellow Tide alum Josh Jacobs’ 84.5 rushing yards vs. the Texans, and he easily delivered with 143 in the Raiders’ 38-20 home win.

In 10 career games against the Texans, Henry has averaged 103.5 rushing yards. That includes eye-popping totals of 211, 212 and 250 ground yards in his three most recent matchups with Houston (2019 and 2020 seasons).

Yeah, it’s a bright green light on Henry’s rushing yards over here.

Henry anytime TD (-145 or better); Henry 2+ TDs (+245 or better)

Henry’s five-star matchup against the soft Texans run defense is so juicy that we’re going to pile on with a pair of touchdown props as well.

The Titans’ stud back has tallied five touchdowns in six games this season while the Texans have given up nine TDs in six games to opposing RBs. The Raiders’ Jacobs accounted for a third of that total himself last Sunday with a trio of rushing scores.

In his aforementioned last three games against Houston, Henry has found the end zone at least twice in each contest for a total of seven TDs.

So not only are we getting in and paying the -145 juice on the Henry anytime TD prop Sunday, but we’re also recommending a play on his two-plus TD prop as well at a nice payoff price of +245.

Jerry Jeudy over 46.5 receiving yards (-115 or better)

Things most certainly haven’t gone as planned for Jeudy and the Denver Broncos’ passing game this season. But there is reason for some optimism in Sunday’s London matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jeudy has totaled 53 or more receiving yards in each of his last four games, including his second-best outing of the season (96 yards on seven receptions and 11 targets) this past Sunday against the New York Jets.

QB Russell Wilson should be back this Sunday after a one-week absence, and the Jaguars on Wednesday placed their top cornerback, Shaquill Griffin, on injured reserve with a back issue.

Even with Griffin starting five games, the Jaguars are permitting an average of 150.6 receiving yards per game to opposing wide receivers.
