NFL Week 6 player prop picks, best bets for Derrick Henry, Jalen Hurts and Jahmyr Gibbs

Alabama football fans continue supporting the Crimson Tide’s standouts of years past after they join the NFL, and betting on a player’s prop markets can add excitement to the viewing experience.

I’m breaking down the matchups and best bets for some of the fan favorites, including RB Derrick Henry, QB Jalen Hurts and RB Jahmyr Gibbs. I browsed the top sports betting sites to find the best odds for each recommended prop bet.

Derrick Henry player prop prediction

Longest rushing attempt over 17.5 yards

Odds: +110 at bet365 Sportsbook ($10 bet pays out $21)

Henry and the Ravens take on a Commanders defense that’s susceptible to the run. Washington surrenders 130 rushing yards per game and allows 5.1 yards per carry (second-worst in the NFL).

Despite leaking like a faucet against the rush, the Commanders have given up only three touchdowns on the ground, so I’m avoiding Henry’s touchdown scoring props.

The Ravens have the league’s most dominant rushing attack, led by King Henry’s 572 yards. Derrick’s seven runs of 20+ yards are more than any other ball carrier.

Outside of Week 1, Henry has run for 29 yards or more on a single carry in every game this season. He also ranks ninth among RBs with six yards per touch.

Jalen Hurts player prop prediction

250+ passing yards

Odds: +150 at Fanatics Sportsbook ($10 bet pays out $25.00)

The Browns hit the road in Week 6 for a clash with the Eagles. Cleveland is great at pressuring the QB and gives up only 184 passing yards per game.

Despite the tough matchup, I believe things are lining up for Hurts to have a big day.

Philadelphia is coming off a much-needed bye, and WR A.J. Brown is back after sitting since Week 1 with an injury. WR DeVonta Smith missed the Eagles’ last game with a concussion but has been a full participant in practice, pointing to a likely return.

TE Dallas Goedert was the centerpiece of the Eagles’ aerial attack when Brown and Smith were out, and the top-tier pass catcher ranks second in tight end receiving yards.

The Browns have one of the worst offenses in the NFL and are entering the final game of a three-week road stretch. Cleveland failed to surpass 16 points in the first two matchups.

If the Browns are still stuck in the mud offensively in Week 6, it’ll provide more possessions for Hurts’ passing yards prop to cash.

Jahmyr Gibbs player prop prediction

Under 21.5 receiving yards

Odds: -115 at DraftKings Sportsbook ($10 bet pays out $18.70)

The Lions are in “Jerry World” on Sunday afternoon for a matchup with the Cowboys.

Dallas is awful against the run, allowing 135 rushing yards per game. Opposing ball carriers have scored eight touchdowns vs. the Cowboys (second-most in the NFL), and Big D could be without two of its best defenders in Week 6.

DE DeMarcus Lawrence isn’t suiting up, and LB Micah Parsons is questionable after missing Week 5.

I’m expecting the Lions to be run-heavy, controlling time of possession and limiting the Cowboys’ scoring opportunities. RB David Montgomery has gotten a few more carries than Gibbs, but Jahmyr is Detroit’s rushing yards leader.

Gibbs had zero passing targets in the Lions’ last two games, pointing to offensive coordinator Ben Johnson’s desire to give Gibbs a larger workload out of the backfield.
