NFL Thursday night: Ravens QB stays on field, gets win

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback made it to the end of the NFL’s Week 11 Thursday night game. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback did not.

That helped the Ravens post a 34-20 victory over the Bengals in an AFC North rivalry game.

Lamar Jackson came up gimpy after a first-half tackle and showed a limp at various times throughout the game. But the Baltimore quarterback completed 16-of-26 passes for 264 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and ran for 54 yards on nine carries.

Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow left the game with a wrist injury after throwing a 4-yard touchdown pass to running back Joe Mixon with 5:49 left in the first half. That put Jake Browning, with four career snaps, on the field for the Bengals. Browning completed 8-of-14 passes for 68 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and ran for 40 yards on four carries.

Cincinnati led 10-7 when Burrow went out. Jackson threw touchdown passes of 37 yards to wide receiver Nelson Agholor (on a throw intended for another receiver that was deflected right into Agholor’s hands) and 10 yards to wide receiver Rashod Bateman as Baltimore took a 21-10 lead into halftime.

Eight players from Alabama high schools and colleges got on the field during the Cincinnati-Baltimore game:

· Ravens cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis (St. Paul’s Episcopal, Alabama) made two tackles.

· Bengals safety Jordan Battle (Alabama) led Cincinnati with 11 tackles on defense and one on special teams. The rookie had 10 solo tackles. Battle’s single-game career high for tackles entering Thursday night’s contest was three.

· Ravens guard Tyrell Doss (Aliceville) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Bengals cornerback Allan George (Andalusia) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey (Hoover, Alabama) was designated as a game-day inactive. A calf injury kept Humphrey out of the lineup.

· Bengals wide receiver Shedrick Jackson (Hoover, Auburn) did not record any stats. Cincinnati elevated Jackson from its practice squad to make him eligible to play for the second straight game.

· Ravens guard Tashawn Manning (Auburn) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron (St. Paul’s Episcopal, Alabama) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Bengals kicker Evan McPherson (Fort Payne) made field goals of 50 and 26 yards and two extra points. McPherson was wide left on a 53-yard attempt.

· Ravens outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon (Hoover) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Michael Pierce (Daphne, Samford) started at nose tackle for the Ravens. Pierce registered one quarterback hit.

· Bengals tight end Irv Smith Jr. (Alabama) did not record any stats.

· Cam Taylor-Britt (Park Crossing) started at cornerback for the Bengals. Taylor-Britt made one tackle and broke up one pass before leaving the game with a quadriceps injury.

· Jonah Williams (Alabama) started at right offensive tackle for the Bengals.

Baltimore (8-3) stays in prime time for its next game, when the Ravens visit the Los Angeles Chargers at 7:20 p.m. CST Nov. 26 in the Week 12 Sunday night game.
