NFL sets its Black Friday matchup for 2025 season
As the winner of the 2024 NFL championship, the Philadelphia Eagles likely will be a staple of the league’s nationally televised, stand-alone schedule in the 2025 campaign.
The NFL plans to release its complete 2025 schedule on Wednesday night, but the league has announced five stand-alone games already, and the Eagles are in three of them.
The NFL announced on Monday night that Philadelphia will play the Chicago Bears in the league’s Black Friday game. The Eagles and Bears will square off at 2 p.m. CST Nov. 28 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Prime Video will televise the contest.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is an Alabama alumnus, and a former Crimson Tide standout was the winning quarterback in the NFL’s inaugural Black Friday game last season, when Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins defeated the New York Jets 34-13.
Philadelphia has the most Alabama alumni on its offseason roster in the NFL. Other former Crimson Tide players joining Hurts on the Eagles are:
- Linebacker Jihaad Campbell
- Guard Landon Dickerson
- Tight end Cameron Latu
- Cornerback Eli Ricks
- Wide receiver DeVonta Smith
- Guard Tyler Steen
- Defensive tackle Byron Young
Earlier on Monday, the NFL announced the Eagles will play the Dallas Cowboys in the first game of the 2025 season at 7:20 p.m. CDT Sept. 4 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
FOX Sports also announced on Monday that the Eagles and Washington Commanders would square off in an NFC East game as part of a Saturday doubleheader on Dec. 20. After the Eagles-Commanders game at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, the Bears and Green Bay Packers will meet in an NFC North game at Soldiers Field in Chicago.
The NFL will unveil the full schedule for the 2025 season at 7 p.m. Wednesday on NFL Network and ESPN2.
