NFL Scouting Combine: Which tight end ran fastest on Friday?
Oregon’s Terrance Ferguson ran to the title of fastest tight end at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.63-second 40-yard dash on Friday.
South Carolina’s Joshua Simon finished as the runner-up to Ferguson with a 4.66-second clocking at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Alabama’s CJ Dippre had the third-fastest time among the tight ends at 4.69 seconds.
Another Alabama tight end, Robbie Ouzts, also ran the 40 at the combine on Friday. His time of 4.91 seconds was the slowest of the 14 tight ends who participated.
Ouzts weighed in at 274 pounds. Ferguson weighed 247.
One other SEC tight end ran the 40 on Friday, with Texas’ Gunnar Helm recording a 4.84.
In the other measured drills on Friday, the leaders among the tight ends included:
Vertical jump: Ferguson and Simon also went 1-2, respectively, at this station, with the Oregon tight end recording a 39-inch vertical jump and the South Carolina tight end going 38 inches. Texas Tech’s Jalin Conyers and Nebraska’s Thomas Fidone II tied for third at 35.5 inches.
Broad jump: Nebraska’s Fidone overtook Ferguson and Simon here with a jump of 10 feet, 6 inches (126 inches). Simon was 2 inches behind Fidone, and Ferguson was 2 inches behind Simon.
