NFL Scouting Combine: Which safety ran fastest on Friday?

Kansas State’s Marques Sigle clocked in with the fastest 40-yard dash on Friday among the safeties at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.

Sigle’s 4.37-second showing allowed him to edge South Carolina’s Nick Emmanwori by 0.01 seconds at the top of the safety speed chart at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Sigle weighed in at 199 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine. Emmanwori was 220 pounds.

Nevada’s Kitan Crawford had the third-fastest 40 among the safeties at 4.41 seconds.

Malachi Moore from Hewitt-Trussville High School and Alabama was the lone player with Alabama football roots in the safety group, and he did not run the 40 on Friday.

Three other SEC safeties ran the 40 at the combine on Friday:

  • Oklahoma’s Billy Bowman Jr: 4.42 seconds
  • Texas’ Andrew Mukuba: 4.45 seconds
  • Georgia’s Malaki Starks: 4.50 seconds

In the other measured drills on Friday, the leaders among the safeties included:

Vertical jump: South Carolina’s Emmanwori got 43 inches off the ground to top the other safeties. Nevada’s Crawford and Clemson’s R.J. Mickens were the runners-up at 41.5 inches.

Broad jump: South Carolina’s Emmanwori and Kansas State’s Sigle swapped their finishing spots in the 40 for the broad jump. Emmanwori covered 11 feet, 6 inches (138 inches) to finish 8 inches beyond Sigle. Nevada’s Crawford finished third here, too, at 136 inches.
