NFL rookie Kool-Aid McKinstry buys car for his mother
This Mother’s Day weekend was different for Geneva Allen. Her son, Ga’Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry, took her to Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham and presented her with a Mercedes-Benz SUV.
McKinstry shared the occasion via a video on his Instagram account with the note: “First purchase. Congrats, Ma. U deserve it all.”

The former Alabama cornerback joined the New Orleans Saints as a second-round selection in the NFL Draft on April 26. McKinstry is the only one of the Saints’ seven draft choices who has not signed his rookie contract. McKinstry will get a four-year contract worth about $9.157 million.
Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham lists McKinstry’s coach with the Crimson Tide, Nick Saban, as a partner for the business.

McKinstry was the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Mr. Football and Class 6A Back of the Year while playing for Pinson Valley High School in 2020, when the Indians won their third AHSAA Class 6A championship in four seasons.
At Alabama, McKinstry was a first-team All-American selection for The Associated Press and The Sporting News in 2023.
