NFL Monday night: Seattle Seahawks sack New York Giants

The Seattle Seahawks sacked New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones 11 times on Monday night.

In turn, Jones threw two interceptions – with one returned 97 yards for a touchdown by rookie Devon Witherspoon – and lost a fumble at the New York 7-yard line, which Seattle cashed in for the game’s first touchdown during the Seahawks’ 24-3 victory.

New York scored 31 points in winning its second game of the season against the Arizona Cardinals. But in their other three games, the Giants have been outscored 94-15.

Thirteen players from Alabama high schools and colleges were involved in the Seattle-New York game:

· Giants cornerback Cor’Dale Flott (Saraland) made one tackle.

· Seahawks outside linebacker Derick Hall (Auburn) made two tackles and registered two quarterback hits.

· Giants center J.C. Hassenauer (Alabama) is on injured reserve and not eligible to play.

· Seahawks cornerback Mike Jackson (Spain Park) made three tackles.

· Giants safety Bobby McCain (Oxford) was designated as a game-day inactive.

· Xavier McKinney (Alabama) started at safety for the Giants. McKinney made three tackles.

· Evan Neal (Alabama) started at right offensive tackle for the Giants.

· Giants defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches (Central-Phenix City) made two tackles.

· Jarran Reed (Alabama) started at nose tackle for the Seahawks. Reed made three tackles.

· Giants cornerback Aaron Robinson (Alabama) is on reserve/physically unable to play. Robinson must miss at least the first four games of the season.

· A’Shawn Robinson (Alabama) started at defensive tackle for the Giants. Robinson made one tackle.

· Giants wide receiver Cam Sims (Alabama) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Darius Slayton (Auburn) started at wide receiver for the Giants. Slayton had two receptions for 23 yards.

Seattle (3-1) doesn’t play again until Oct. 15 because of its Week 5 bye. With a three-game winning streak, the Seahawks will return on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals.

New York (1-3) visits the Miami Dolphins at noon CDT Sunday.
