NFL Monday night: Former state prep stars spark winners

With 12, the Philadelphia Eagles have more players from Alabama high schools and colleges on their active roster than any other NFL team.

And while former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts ran the Philadelphia offense during a 25-11 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, three alumni of Alabama high schools made defensive contributions to the win:

· Safety Reed Blankenship (West Limestone) led the Eagles with seven tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage, and intercepted a pass. Blankenship picked off Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield at the Tampa Bay 37-yard line with 2:26 left in the first half.

· Linebacker Nicholas Morrow (Huntsville) made two tackles, including bringing down Bucs running back Rachaad White in the end zone for a safety with 3:40 left in the third quarter as Philadelphia took a 22-3 lead.

· Cornerback James Bradberry (Pleasant Grove, Samford) made one tackle and recovered a fumble at the Tampa Bay 36-yard line with 24 seconds left in the second quarter. The Eagles turned the turnover into a field goal on the final play of the first half for a 13-3 lead.
