Newborn baby’s body discovered in Alabama store dumpster

Decatur police say the body of a newborn baby was found in a dumpster this morning.

According to police spokesperson Irene Cardenas-Martinez, the discovery was made Tuesday morning at about 9.

Investigators were called to Wally World Mini Mart, at 2505 Point Mallard Drive S.E., after a call of possible human remains being located in a dumpster.

The body of a deceased newborn baby was found inside a dumpster on the property.

The body has been transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville for an autopsy in order to attempt to determine the cause of death.

Police are investigating.
