The newest location of a popular frozen treat franchise is scheduled to open this week in the Birmingham area.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice plans to open Tuesday at 16383 U.S. 280 in Chelsea, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Chelsea is growing faster than every other city with at least 10,000 residents in the Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Area and is the sixth fastest growing city in Alabama.

Earlier this year, the company announced two locations for Alabama, including one in Madison.

The Orlando-based franchise projects a total of 36 locations across Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, as part of a deal with 3DN LLC, a development and growth group.

Each store offers more than 40 rotating flavors of Italian ice, as well as soft ice cream. A synthesis of these two products, Jeremiah’s Gelati, has layers of Italian ice and soft ice cream.

Jeremiah’s has awarded more than 225 franchise units since 2019, and projects to grow by 45 by the end of the year.
