New cruise ship travels through Alabama along Tennessee River
A new cruise ship from American Cruise Lines is getting a good look at Alabama this week, cruising the Tennessee River.
WHNT reported that the ship docked in Florence’s O’Neal Harbor on Monday morning and will be in Decatur today.
The 175-passenger, five-deck American Serenade, which began service this year, has state rooms ranging from 250 to 650 square feet, a fitness center and other amenities. It was built by Chesapeake Shipbuilding for American Cruise Lines.
The ship is currently on a route that includes Chattanooga, with stops in Decatur and Florence, Paducah, Ky. and Nashville.
Other routes this year include cruises of Lake Barkley and the Cumberland, Mississippi and Ohio rivers.
