Five commercial projects exceeding $1 million have received building permits since the beginning of the year.

That includes alterations to the Chick-fil-A in Hampton Cove and a Walmart on Bailey Cove Road, according to Southern Exposure Information.

Overall, 295 permits have been issued as of Jan. 17 in Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties totaling $64.5 million. Huntsville has issued 150 totaling $27.7 million. Madison County has issued 64 for $27.7 million.
