New casino gets green light on Mississippi coast
The Mississippi Gaming Commission on Thursday granted site approval for construction of South Beach Casino & Resort on a 4-acre site near Waveland, Miss.
According to WLOX, the 4-acre site is located along Clermont Harbor on South Beach Boulevard, just west of Waveland. Plans calls for a resort with 40,000 square feet of gaming space, featuring 1,100 slot machines, 25 gaming tables, and six poker tables.
There’s one catch: Developers have yet to secure financing for the project. Kirk Ladnier, project manager, told the gaming commission Thursday they needed site approval to help secure investors.
He also said the project has been approved before, but never secured the necessary financing to proceed.
