Class 7A No. 1 Central-Phenix City and No. 2 Auburn each had an unplanned week off in Week 6 to prepare for this week’s showdown.

The games between IMG Academy and Central-Phenix City and Moody and Auburn were both canceled due to the possibility of inclement weather after Hurricane Helene.

That leaves both teams undefeated heading into Friday’s Region 2 showdown.

Central-Phenix City and Jackson in Class 4A are the only unanimous No. 1 teams in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings.
