Netflix cancels 2 shows after only one season

Netflix has canceled “The Residence” and “Pulse,” reports Deadline.

Both shows premiered in the spring.

“The Residence” starred Uzo Aduba as Cordelia Cupp, the “greatest detective in the world.” Inspired by “Inspired by The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House,” the show was a murder mystery where staff and guests at the White House were all suspects.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, if Netflix had extended the series, the show would be an anthology with Cupp taking on a new case each season.

“Pulse,” starring Willa Fitzgerald and Colin Woodell, was Netflix’s take on a medical drama. Deadline reports Netflix quietly axed the show well over a month ago.

More big changes at Netflix:

In May, Netflix revamped its interface for the first time in more than a decade.

The streaming platform has announced changes designed to help viewers decide what to watch. Changes include a “refreshed” TV home screen and “responsive” personalized recommendations that can adjust in real time.

In an announcement, Netflix described the new experience as ” a simpler, easier, and more intuitive design — to help our members easily find something great to watch.” In the coming weeks and months, Netflix members across the world will get to experience the updated TV homepage, the company said.
