Mountain Brook had only four players hit a shot but they were the model of consistency and efficiency as the fifth-ranked Spartans cruised to a 43-30 victory over Gadsden City in Monday’s Class 6A Northeast Regional semifinal at Jacksonville State’s Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Mountain Brook (24-6) shot out to a quick 4-0 lead in the firs three minutes before Naomi Wise knocked down a 3-pointer for the only made field goal of the period for the Titans. Libby Geisiler countered with a pair of triples and Maddie Walter converted at the charity stripe, and the Spartans exited the period with a 12-4 lead.
