NASA scrubs first crewed Starliner flight

NASA once again scrubbed the first crewed Starliner flight to the International Space Station.

The space agency made the decision moments before the mission was supposed to launch astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams to the space station on Saturday.

According to NASA’s website, teams were evaluating the ground launch sequencer. According to the space agency’s broadcast, officials are still hopeful for a launch on Sunday at Launch Pad 41 at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The vehicle, an additional ferry to the space station in addition to Space X’s Crew Dragon, has often been delayed going into space. A previous launch attempt was scrubbed on May 6 because of a helium leak.

The vehicle will be launched on an Atlas V rocket built at the United Launch Alliance facility in Decatur. Huntsville’s Marshall Space Flight Center has also been involved in the effort.
