My Morning Jacket to kick off 2023 spring-summer tour at Alabama venue

My Morning Jacket will kick off a spring tour in Alabama, starting an itinerary that will take it to Mexico, Europe and back through the United States.

The band was formed in Kentucky and is known for covering a shifting sonic territory that has included rock, country, jam and psychedelic influences. It will start its newly announced spring-summer tour with a May 14 appearance at Mobile’s Saenger Theatre.

The tour adds to some previously scheduled festival dates, so the routing is eye-catching: Jackson, Miss., on May 15 followed by Guadalajara, London and Manchester on May 20, 30 and 31. The band returns from its European leg a few weeks later, playing in St. Augustine, Fla., on June 15 and Charleston, S.C., on June 16 before hitting the Bonnaroo festival on June 17. There are no other Alabama dates before the tour concludes at Red Rocks in Colorado in late August.
