Music star, former ‘American Idol’ judge, headed to space
Music star and former “American Idol” judge Katy Perry is one of many celebrities scheduled for a mission to space.
This news comes from Jeff Bezos’ rocket company Blue Origin, which is planning the expedition.
Perry is one of six women who will be onboard the flight, including “CBS Morning” co-host Gayle King.
Others scheduled for the trip: “New York Times” author Lauren Sanchez, Bezos’ girlfriend, will be onboard as will producer Kerianne Flynn, NASA scientist Aisha Bowe and bioastronautics research expert Amanda Nguyen.
According to Blue Origin, the flight for these six women will be to “challenge their perspectives of Earth, empower them to share their own stories and create lasting impact that will inspire generations to come.”
Perry left “American Idol” as a judge last year.
