“I thought we played well,” Muscle Shoals coach Scott Basden said. “Obviously, being the first game of the year, I think some stuff went our way early, and we were able to capitalize on good field position. We got a couple of big plays early in the running game, and we hit a couple of good passes. Anytime you’re able to put points on the board like that in the first half, I think that helps you play some younger kids and establish some depth for later in the season.”

Play of the game: After the Muscle Shoals defense made a goal line stand, the Trojans took possession on their own 2. Greene then took a handoff, broke a tackle and outraced the Bob Jones defense for a 98-yard touchdown. This put the Trojans up 27-0 with 8:21 to go in the second quarter.
