A Friday afternoon multi-vehicle crash in Blount County has left two Oneonta women dead, according to officials.

Donna A. Casey, 59, and her passenger, Barbara C. Heflin, 64, were killed on U.S. 231 near the 250 mile marker, approximately four miles east of Oneonta. Casey was hit inside of her Kia Forte by a van driven by an Ashville man.

Casey’s Kia was pushed forward in the collision and then struck by a GMC Sierra driven by an Oneonta man.

Both Casey and Heflin were pronounced dead at the scene, while a 3-year-old passenger in the Kia was airlifted to an area hospital, according to officials.
