Much of Alabama under heat advisory: How hot will it be where you live?
Another hot July day is in store for Alabama, and heat advisories will be in effect for part of the state.
Heat advisories are issued when the combination of the air temperature and humidity levels makes the heat index, or “feels like” temperature, reach levels that could prove dangerous for those working outside.
The National Weather Service is forecasting air temperatures to reach the mid- to upper 90s across a good part of the state. Rain showers or storms are also expected to be few and far between.
Heat advisories will be in effect both Friday and Saturday for large parts of north and central Alabama. South Alabama was not under any advisories as of Friday morning.
Look for mid- to upper 90-degree temperatures to hang around into next week, according to the weather service.
