An innocent motorist is in critical condition after their vehicle was hit by a suspect who was fleeing authorities Monday in Mobile, authorities said.

The motorist was ejected from their vehicle on Dauphin Island Parkway after the suspect ran a red light and collided with their vehicle, police told Fox 10.

The suspect allegedly had drugs and a 3-year-old child — who was not harmed in the collision — in their vehicle, the station reported.

Police took the suspect into custody.
