Motorcyclist killed, mother picking up child critically injured in Brighton bus stop collision
A motorcyclist is dead and a mother picking her child up after school is critically injured following a collision in Brighton.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the woman, whose identity has not been released, had just picked her child up from the school bus stop about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Mother and child were crossing Main Street in Brighton when the mother was struck by a motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead.
The woman was taken to UAB Hospital in critical condition. The child was not injured, said sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money.
The crash remains under investigation.
