A motorcyclist was killed in a single vehicle crash late Monday in Tuscaloosa County.

Alabama State Troopers on Tuesday identified the fatality victim as Christopher L. Scruggs. He was 47 and lived in Buhl.

The wreck happened at 10:45 p.m. Monday on Pate Road, about three miles south of Buhl, said Trooper Cpl. Reginal King. Scruggs was driving a Suzuki GSX1300R that left the road and struck a metal gate.

Scruggs was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
