A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Cullman County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Derek L. Humphries. He was 36 and lived in Holly Pond.

The wreck happened at 4:40 p.m. on Interstate 65, about three miles north of Vinemont.

Senior Trooper Cody Farrar said Humphries was diving a Kawasaki Ninja that left the interstate and struck a guardrail. He was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
