Morgan Wallen’s criminal charges change ahead of plea hearing for chair-throwing incident

Morgan Wallen, who is schedule to enter a plea to the criminal charges against him Thursday, has had the charges reduced to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment without a weapon.

The country music star is accused of throwing a chair off the sixth floor of a bar and almost hitting police officers in the process.

Wallen’s case was moved from general sessions court into criminal court on Tuesday. According to The Tennessean, court records show the charges were reduced with the move.

In April, Wallen was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, a class E felony.

Police viewed video which showed the country music singer “lunging and throwing an object over the roof,” his arrest report said. Witnesses told officers Wallen laughed afterward.

Staff members of Chief’s told those officers that Wallen, 30, was responsible for throwing the chair.
