Octobers in Birmingham signal for the start of Classic Season. For the last three years, the season has kicked off with the oldest HBCU Classic rivalry with Morehouse College and Tuskegee University.

Since 1902, the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers and the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers have faced off in the longest-run NCAA Division II classic in the nation. It started as an entertainment event for the African-American civilian community and U.S. Army soldiers in Columbus, Georgia, and Phenix City, Alabama, metro area.

The weekend’s activities will include mix of social events that lead up to the big game on Saturday at Legion Field.

BAG POLICY

Legion Field has a strict gameday bag policy. All clear bags are approved to enter the stadium. If this policy is broken, the person will be removed from the premises without a refund. Any bag that is not clear or larger than 1″ x 4.5″ x 8.5″ is prohibited. All items that are discovered during security inspections that don’t adhere to the bag policy must either be returned to the owner’s vehicle or discarded. If medical bags are needed, they must be approved with an inspection at GATES 7A-7B.

FRIDAY, Oct. 6

OFFICIAL PRESS CONFERENCE

The Morehouse Tuskegee Classic will welcomes the media to hear more from the coaches and selected players of each school.

Time: 11 a.m.

FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY

This event is for alumni and fans of both schools to enjoy an afternoon lunch event with live music from DJ CJ Stickman. The area’s best food trucks and vendors will be available for people to choose from.

MOREHOUSE TUSKEGEE CLASSIC CONCERT EXPERIENCE

This year’s concert event features Trina and Yella Beezy. However, the show is already sold out.

SATURDAY, Oct. 7

MOREHOUSE TUSKEGEE CLASSIC

The weekend’s culminating event, The Morehouse Tuskegee Classic, kicks off at Birmingham’s historic Legion Field. The game will feature alumni, fan, and corporate tailgates, as well as a fan zone.
