More than music: An innovative band opens its doors to create an artistic community
Bands create songs. They create albums. They create videos. They create fan bases. That’s all in the expected order of things. But right now in Baldwin County, one of the Mobile area’s most fascinating rock groups seems to be well on its way to creating a whole new artistic community.
The band is Analog Missionary, a group that has always gone its own way. Inspired by progressive rock and ambient music, its members developed a distinctive repertoire. If you happened to catch them 20 years ago on the deck of the Bluegill, you might have heard them play Radiohead and Rush, PJ Harvey and Portishead, Peter Gabriel and Depeche Mode.
