More residential development coming for Baldwin County after 156-acre purchase

Fast-growing Baldwin County is in line for new residential development after private investor paid $1.6 million to purchase 156 acres in Loxley.

The developer plans future residential development on the site on Pursley Road, according to court records and Andrew Dickman of Stirling, who represented the buyer.

The purchase was one of several real estate transactions of note recently in Mobile and Baldwin counties.

R Bistro will soon return to Fairhope. The eatery, which closed downtown in 2021, has leased space at 19270 Scenic 98 in Fairhope, according to Kim Ward of Kim Ward Realty, who represented the tenant and restaurant owner, Misty Rider. Randy Niemeyer of Ashurst Niemeyer Real Estate worked for the landlord. R’Bistro will occupy the space formerly used by Fish River Grill.

Two office suites at 5011 Government Blvd. in Mobile have been leased, according to Mike Reid of Merrill P. Thomas Co., who represented the landlord and tenants. Party & Play for Kids, a learning center and private party room for children., has leased 1,500 square feet. And Mortgage Team 1 has also leased 1,500 square feet.
