More record highs across Alabama on Friday
Alabama’s mini fall heatwave continued on Friday, and several Alabama cities reported record high temperatures.
The National Weather Service expects more of the same for all but north Alabama again on Saturday as a cold front moves into the state.
Friday featured temperatures climbing into the mid- to upper 80s statewide.
Montgomery was the exception, hitting 90 degrees. It was also a record for Oct. 25. The old record was 88 degrees in 1931, according to the weather service.
Friday’s other daily high temperature records were:
* Anniston’s high of 86 degrees broke the record of 85 set in 2016.
* Dothan hit 89 degrees, tying the record last reached in 2010.
* Huntsville hit 87 degrees, tying the record last set in 1927.
* Mobile hit 88 degrees, tying its record last set in 1927.
* Tuscaloosa’s high of 87 degrees broke the record of 86 set in 2010.
