More cold coming: Which night will be Alabama’s coldest this week?

The first half of the week will be a cold one for Alabama.

Look for temperatures to cool off some on Monday into Tuesday as a new batch of cold air arrives in the state.

According to National Weather Service forecasts tonight and Tuesday night look to be the coldest nights of the week.

Tonight into Tuesday morning will likely be the coldest for those in north and central Alabama, and Tuesday night into Wednesday morning could be the coldest for those in south Alabama.

The forecast low temperatures for tonight into Tuesday morning are at the top of this post. North and central Alabama will wind up in the 20s, with 30s expected in south Alabama.

Below are the forecast lows for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Temperatures are expected to be a few degrees “warmer” for those in north and central Alabama, and possible a degree colder for south Alabama:

Expect temperatures to warm up some after Tuesday, with highs expected to reach the 60s statewide by the weekend (and before then for those in the southern half of the state). There is no rain in the forecast until the weekend, which just happens to include Christmas Eve (on Sunday.)

The weather service said rain will be possible on Sunday in Alabama, but the forecast details are still murky at this point.

As of Monday morning it didn’t appear that severe weather would be an issue this weekend, but keep an eye on the forecast this week just in case that were to change.

There is a chance rain could continue into Christmas Day, according to forecasters, but Monday is still outside the weather service’s seven-day forecast window.
