Montgomery shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 charged with manslaughter
A Sunday night shooting in Montgomery left one man dead and another behind bars.
Montgomery police and fire medics responded at 9:30 p.m. to the 3200 block of Eastern Boulevard on a report of a person shot, said Maj. Saba Coleman.
They arrived to find 25-year-old Akhil Sai Mahankali suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators charged Raviteja Goli, 23, with manslaughter. Goli was taken into custody at the scene and is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility with bond set at $30,000.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been released.
