Montgomery police investigator jailed after threatening to kill wife during argument, records state

A Montgomery police officer was arrested Wednesday night on a domestic violence charge.

Officer Daniel Webster III, 37, is charged with third-degree domestic violence/harassment, said Maj. Saba Coleman.

Webster joined the Montgomery Police Department in 2007 and was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. He was immediately relieved of his duties and placed on leave, Coleman said.

Police officials were notified of the arrest by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Webster was not on duty at the time of the incident.

According to charging documents against Webster, his wife told authorities he had been drinking all day and was being belligerent and threatening toward her and her teen son.

Webster threatened to harm, kill and “break your ass up,’’ according to the victim’s statement. He was angry, in part, because she would not let him drive her vehicle.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene, Webster was found hiding in the bushes.

He was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Center with bond set at $500.
