Montgomery man dies in head-on crash on New Yearâs Eve
A Montgomery man was not using a seat belt when he died in a car crash on New Year’s Eve, state troopers said.
Morgan N. Jarrett, 26, died at the scene of the crash, said Sgt. Jeremy J. Burkett, a trooper with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, in a press release. The crash happened about 2:20 a.m. Sunday on Wares Ferry Road near Dozier Road, about a mile east of Montgomery.
Jarrett was driving a 2003 Honda Odyssey that collided head-on with a 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Justice I. Woods, 28, of Huntsville.
“Jarrett was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Burkett said in the release. “Woods was injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.”
The crash remains under investigation.
