Montgomery 4-star QB commits to SEC West school
St. James 2024 quarterback KJ Jackson committed to Arkansas on Sunday, choosing the Razorbacks over North Carolina.
The 6-foot-4, 217-pound QB led the Trojans to the Class 3A state title last fall, throwing five touchdowns in the second half against perennial power Piedmont.
“The energy around Arkansas football is unmatched,” he told On3 on Sunday.

Jackson, a 4-star prospect, is one of the top rising senior quarterbacks in the state of Alabama. In the 247 composite rankings, he is the No. 23 overall prospect in the state – just three spots behind Mississippi State quarterback commit Josh Flowers of Baker.
Jackson passed for 2,389 yards and 36 touchdowns as a junior. In St. James’ 45-28 comeback win over Piedmont in the title game, he went 10-of-15 for 351 yards and the five second-half touchdowns and was named the game’s MVP.
“He’s certainly special,” then-St. James head coach Jimmy Perry said following the game.
Jackson is the second top 20 Alabama prospect in the Class of 2024 to commit to the Razorbacks. Leeds’ DL Kavion Henderson (No. 13) is also committed to Arkansas.
A year ago, Sam Pittman’s team signed Moody WR Davion Dozier, Pinson Valley DB TJ Metcalf and Gardendale DB Dallas Young – all top 25 prospects – out of Alabama.
