Mobile woman sentenced to life in prison for killing ex-boyfriend

A Mobile woman was sentenced Monday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for shooting and killing her ex-boyfriend during a burglary more than three years ago.

Alexis Gertrude Young, 40, was convicted by a Mobile County jury Aug. 18 of capital murder in the slaying of 30-year-old Aaron Williams.

Williams was found dead inside a unit of the Cedar Trace Apartments in August 2020.

Young was charged with capital murder because Williams was killed during a burglary.

Her sentence was not yet in court records as of early Monday evening, but Fox 10 reported Young was sentence to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
